Equipment Insurance Policy

Insurance coverage is optional but recommended. Customers may purchase insurance to cover theft, loss, or accidental damage. Without insurance, the renter is liable for the full cost of repair or replacement. Claims must be submitted within 24 hours of the incident, along with a police report if applicable.

An Equipment Insurance Policy not only offers protection against physical damage but can also cover the loss of income that a business may suffer due to equipment downtime. This makes it an essential component of a comprehensive risk management strategy, ensuring that companies are financially protected when faced with unforeseen events. The coverage can be customized to suit the specific needs of different types of equipment, whether it's a fleet of vehicles, heavy machinery, computers, or other critical tools required for day-to-day operations.

  • Ensure coverage for all equipment used in operations, including machinery, vehicles, and tools.
  • Check if the insurance policy includes coverage for both theft and damage.
  • Verify if the policy covers accidental damage, fire, or natural disasters.
  • Confirm that the equipment is properly listed and valued in the policy.
  • Ensure timely renewal of the policy to avoid lapses in coverage.
  • Understand the deductibles and limits applied in the policy.
  • Ensure the policy includes liability coverage for third-party damages caused by your equipment.
  • Review exclusions and conditions carefully to avoid surprise claims rejection.
  • Check if the policy includes coverage for loss of income due to equipment downtime.
  • Always consult with an insurance agent for custom coverage tailored to your business needs.

In addition to damage and theft, certain policies may include coverage for equipment breakdowns, which is particularly important for businesses relying on high-tech or specialized equipment that could fail unexpectedly. Equipment breakdown coverage typically includes the cost of repairs, parts replacement, and sometimes even business interruption losses.
